Yeah, I found quite few KW research guides but nothing related to KW competition analysis.

Do you have any keyword research tools?
I use market samurai there are a lot of good tutorials on youtube for it.
Basically I just enter my root keyword then generate keywords which gives about 800
Then I analyse the keywords and check all the boxes so it shows me all the details.
Depending on the keyword I look for high search volume with little competition.

IMO WordStream Keyword Tool which allows you to see number of keywords for free..and youtube.com/keyword_tool this you can use for video requirement.
