I would agree with you on a real site seems probably a bad idea but on test website or site you don't care about much should be okay.

How is this authority link a garbage though? and how's it a SINGLE link will get your site tank in a few months? That doesn't even make any sense. If you don't like it, just keep it to yourself. There's no need to be rude anyway.

Though I can see google likes my "garbage" link so much.

It's funny that all those "paid" link directories are permanently monitoring BHW to put this links on their database. I'm subscribed to a pair, and they are more timely than a clock.
