Guidance needed!

I'm a total newbie to the IM area, I am now digesting and learning / reading the articles from forums, trying to figure out the direction . I've watched some webinars and tried to understand different concept between the ads, SEO , PPC...etc. I gotta be honest that it's not easy at all, especially English is not my mother tongue.
I really need some help here to get me a clue about where to start, I feel kinda overwhelmed with all the info and can't pull myself out from the mess. I would like to start something small from $1, $5, $10. to help me get a better idea about how IM works. Any idea will be appreciated. Thank you so much !!
