Hope some experts will chime in.

All I am wondering is how much traffic to my website on average I can get from twitter and a FB fan page.

assumptions:

1 twitter account, 10,000 followers, tweet every few hours
1 FB fan page, 100,000 fans, status update once or maybe twice a day

The tweets and status updates will be simple and not be pushing an offer, just asking someone to visit my blog and see our other offers there.

Comments welcome.
thx

Sorry, gonna bump because I really want some input on this.

twitter can bring very good traffic to your sites . i won't be able to give any number , but with that much big twitter and fan page accounts , you will obviously get good traffic.

many of my websites get more traffic through twitter than search engines(google) .

and in my opinion , twitter would bring in more traffic than facebook fan pages , so concentrate on twitter more.

Wooglin, so how big is your twitter account? What do you estimate your traffic daily and conversions coming from it.

Conservatively, I estimate that each day about 2% of my twitter followers would click through to my url and from that another 2-5% would convert, which should be 5-10 conversions a day on 10K followers. When I say conversion, I am going after adsense clicks, not CPA.

well i guarantee you that you will get a lot of hits from twitter for sure but they don't have good conversion ratio compared to FB and MySpace!!!

Ram, you think myspace still has potential as well? I think a lot of people forgot about them.

Well i rank them as FB>Twitter>Myspace from my experience.

Yes, MySpace still works for me. Its basically how to you promote stuff. People are making their banks from other SN sites also except these 3.

I think it's difficult to generalize like that. It largely depends on what you're marketing, how well you target, and how you go about getting clicks. :)

For me Face book not very high traffic never tried twitter :D

I think facebook is a larger numbers game than twitter cause twitter is more targeted.

On facebook fan pages, I wish there was a way to insta-message people to their walls like twitter but status updates may work also. The status update will sit in their message tab until they look in even if its a month later which is not really instantaneous traffic like twitter, but still getting to the follower anyway.
