The reason is quality and intent. Being cited by the AI overview drives direct, authoritative traffic that is currently unmatched. The ROI from those 5 mentions would likely dwarf the 10 guest posts.

I'd suggest concentrating on what works best for your goals. Those 10 high-quality guest pieces normally do better if your goal is to attract highly focused, engaged traffic. They reach people who are already interested in your niche. Mentions in AI Overview results are good for getting your name out there, but they might not always lead to sales.

If I had to choose purely for qualified traffic, I’d go with 5 brand mentions inside AI Overview results.

If the guests post are the reason for the AI mention then definitley guest posts. This is true if you choose the right platform.
