Guest Posting "Giveaways"

Lately there seems to be more and more "free" guest posting "opportunities" posted in the giveaway section. This is hardly a freebie or giveaway. The thread starters always have strict criteria for something of value (original content) that you must provide them in order to quality for the guest post to be accepted.

While no money is being exchanged, it's clearly a quid pro quo deal where you have to provide the thread starters with something of value and then they provide you something of questionable value.

Or maybe they are brand new users with 1 post who just joined and will just strip your links after a few days of collecting free high-quality content and never be heard from again, until they open up their next giveaway.

These are more accurately described as trades, and not giveaways or freebies.

Can we get an official opinion on these? I think we are just asking for people to abuse the hell out of the section if we allow it.

I agree, one joined today and had no limit, so could get endless free content, taking away from perfectly good content writers on here.
So Instead of buying from the marketplace, people are buying a domain name and offering a freebie, resulting in their new site getting g content.
Maybe only allow guest posts for members who have been on here a certain amount of time and limiting it so not to take business away from the marketplace

Funny enough I was thinking about this last night and I agree with you here.
Another is the person who joins yesterday, then today is offering free content and just wants a keyword etc and they'll do you an article for free.

It's going to be more of the newbies who jump into 'offers' such as these without thinking what they're actually giving away.

One way is to make this sub forum like the JV and Beta testing where threads need staff approval ( just to add to the workload

< ducks > ) so staff can see the name of the blog etc and make an informed decision as to the validity of the 'offer'.
