I have learned that guest posting is a great way to SEO. Do it correctly and you can really reap the benefits of it.

something I don't quite get is when people say a high PR website. But when you guest post the page that it goes on is unranked or 0. So does that really matter? Surely guest posting only brings in traffic from that page and wouldn't help in the SERPs?

You are right, when you do guest post then it would be NA pr but if you check home page rank then it may be around 3, 4 etc. you get some benefit from home page as well..

Guest posting is good. You just have to find a few authority sites that are willing to let you post on their site.

Guest posting is a Natural SEO. Niche Relevant Guest posting is good to enhances your sites authority. Don't Do over-optimization
