Guest Posting Emails?

Hey All,

Recently my site has been receiving a lot of emails requesting to buy guest posts. I emailed one of them back saying we would be happy to trade guest posts. I'd rather see the SEO benefit than to see a few extra bucks. Has anyone done this, and if so should I request an equal trade? For example, 1 post on our site for one post on another?

Only do an equal trade if the sites are equal or they have a better site.

Most of my emails come from low quality sites, so I've never done it.

Agreed. I should clarify, the emails have been from websites who sell guest posts for a living. They get clients who buy guest posts and then send us an email trying to get their sites onto ours. I'm open to the idea of trading, but want to make sure I'm getting a good deal. Free links are always nice.
 
Link exchanges between two websites is not a good idea. That's a big footprint and you're just asking for a penalty.

Accepting the guest posts on your site whether paid or not, is an SEO benefit itself. You are getting free content, or in your case you're actually getting paid to have
content published on your site. When it comes to SEO, there is nothing better than having more content.
 
Analyze the website niche before accepting the request. Accepting guest posts from sites which are not in your niches are hurt your rankings badly.
 
Same happens to me, I received almost the same website asking to fill out a form to check if the website fits to their need.
Of course, I didn't open the link, but I received the same message in many websites I have (and it's not possible to find one of the website via the other one)
So I guess they are sending emails to all websites, and check the answers.
Well, it's the smart moove, taking less time to do outreach...
Probably 1%-5% of the answers will be will qualty websites ....
 
Check the site metrics and backlink profile before exchanging. It's not a bad practice unless you overdo it. Remember to maintain the natural link diversity as well.
 
If the metrics of his site as similar as yours or even better than why not... It's a good deal

If it is quality website, then you can proceed.
 
Hey All,

So I agreed to accept $50 per post. I figured you were right about more content is always good. They were not willing to trade. My site is about DA 65. Is $50 per post a good deal for me?

Thanks for your advice.
