Can you enlighten me with difference between getting a backlink from xyz.com Vs abc.xyz.com?

Basically, will getting a forum no-follow gives any advantage against do follow guest post link?

Link for ABC.xyz.com I'd of little value especially if it's no follow. A subdomain is a considered a different site by Google. Get that guest post from xyz.com with do follow.

Why I was confused because many sellers offering crowdo links claim DR DA of main domain while the links placed are of these subdomains. Why is that so then? Isn't that misleading?

I dont know why someone is selling what, I am telling from my experience. Also make sure your guest posts gets indexed, else it's no good.

A forum no-follow link from the subdomain will be of very less SEO value, vis-a-visa guest post coming out of a niche-relevant blog or news portal.

If faced with similar situation wherein I had to pick one, I will go with guest posting any day.
