Hello, i have a choice to make but i want to be sure because its a cost.
I want a backlink on a website that has 60 000 traffic and 58DA but i have two options :

- A Guest Post (150$)
- A backlink on a directory page (subdomain) for the "best communication agencies", first rank in google for "communication agency". So there are thousands of visitors by month in this directory. (600$)

Which is the best ? The backlink with no traffic but still on the website that have 60K visitors and high DA ? Or in the directory page with thousands of traffic but less content ?

Thanks for your help !

Depends on what you want to get out of it. A directory link with traffic might bring referral traffic from organic source. A guest post will improve authority and maybe come with an increase in rankings ,which in time would also bring traffic. From what I noticed, though, you can't really count on referral traffic, as most websites have their own ways of monetizing organic traffic like banners to different places. And you will also be in competition with other brands on the directory. So I would go for the guest post, to be honest

@OP I couldn't understand the statement.

No traffic but 60K visitors????- Please make it clear.

My suggestion to go with Guest post site with good metrics.

+1 for the guest post with good metrics. It's better for the long term

The website have good traffic, but if i write a guest post, the page created will have no traffic.
So the choice is a guest post with no traffic on the post page, or the directory with good traffic but less content.

I would prefer guest posting over backlink on directory page.

Who said your guest post wouldn't rank?
Maybe, it'll rank higher than the directory.
With a guest post, it's all in your hands as you provide content. And if great content doesn't rank on that super duper domain then maybe the domain is not that good after all.

Depends on what you want the backlinks for. I do think the $600 backlinks is quite overpriced unless there's a guarantee those would send actual visitors, good number of those to your site. These visitors might eventually buy what you sell.

If you want the backlinks for purely SEO purposes, I think the guestpost is the best option. This of course largely depends on the website you're acquiring the guest post from.

@orthalion

I would prefer free & paid Guest post sites with good metrics & traffic's.

guest post every day, twice on sundays!

getting a backlink from a page that has tons of outbound links will not help as much a dedicated page that is guest post

Traffic does not say about the strength of the link.

You have to make sure that the site where you want to publish a guest post has a good link profile with contextual links from strong other websites.

If the site has almost no contextual links and only spammy links, the site will give you almost no power.

Also important is where on the website the post will be published.

As a rule of thumb you can say no deeper than 3 clicks away from the home page is good.

I would definitely go with a guest post here as it will be published on some site that has active traffic, active visitors and this is far more engaging than just inserting some backlinks, without any further context. Here you will prove your value more and will get more quality clicks on your site. Later, when you can invest more, you can go with the backlinks as well, but first, choose guest posts.

I'd go with the guest post assuming the directory page already has a bunch of other links on it. And assuming the guest post isn't just a PBN or guest post farm
