Guest blog post (with link) vs just a link

Hey guys,

I've found a website which accepts guest blog posts, but also provides a link exchange service. I'd obviously host the link then remove it as soon as I was approved.

My question is, in terms of ranking in the SERPs is there any benefit to the actual blog post? Like does having relevant text around the link make a significant difference? Or should I save my time and money and just use the link exchange.

You don't want links from sites that openly accept link exchanges and guest blogs for links.

Yeah, "editorial" links within posts related to your niche are more powerful links than free-for-all link lists / exchanges.
