Seems to no end there is no consensus on these speed test models, not sure how a website can show a g. desktop speed of 100 and a mobile score of 60, GT metrix can show all high 90s, and Pingdom shows me a score a C..WTF..whos throttling or adding a bumper to the results and from day to day with no site changes at all, this grade can change that rapidly..this makes no sense.

I get we are all supposed to comp outdated cell phones in "far away places" with outdated mobile networks that will never buy your products, but it seems these systems are designed to provide false or skewed information.

Personally, I use WebPageTest (WPT) whenever auditing or working on optimizing the performance of a website. I strongly believe it´s the best performance audit tool on the market.

But, clients want to be on the green for Google PageSpeed Insights (GPSI) and with a good reason. None of the other performance audit tools have their own search engine you need to optimize your site´s for :D :P

And, to be honest, when it comes to GTMetrix unless you have a PRO account so you can run performance tests based on mobile devices it´s pretty much useless as it will only run desktop-based audits and that skews the results a lot.

There´s a reason why many so-called "performance experts" use GTMetrix audit results.

I love watching WPT twitch live streams where the developer behind the tools runs live audits and other advanced performance tricks and tips on other sites while using the tool. They also upload those videos on their YouTube channel, you should definitely check them out!
