GSC position not matching Serps position

For a lot of queries - G Search Console shows my average position as 15 for example. But when I check search results I am not there for the keyword? Even when I check the next few pages.

I am working on a new domain (4 month old). Is this discrepancy normal?

Maybe it's showing differently with location? I get that it's average position but I don't see my keyword sometimes on the next 5 pages in either direction

well, SERPs are different from a country to another
if you are targeting a local audience, check it manually

Yup, it's quite normal
Manual checking is the only solution for finding the exact position

No I am just saying, GSC shows a keyword average position for 10. I check search results and it is not in 10th position or even 30th position

Filter your GSC report according to countries, take note of countries where you're ranking first highest.
Then use a VPN to connect to that country and do a simple Google search for your keywords.

Works for me all of the time and GSC is mostly correct with the 'average'.

Also remember that most times GSC is usually one day late
