i hope they won't tough indexing after upgradation.

The "Request Indexing" feature of the URL Inspection Tool has been disabled in order to make some technical updates. We expect it to be re-enabled in the coming weeks. In the meanwhile, Google continues to find and index content through our regular methods, as covered

Let it be,
I hope it will be back to work at least,
I have 0% success indexing any new pages in the last couple of days....

Weird. Anyway, I had some issues too but they seem to pass with the time.

Hoping for the same.

I had like 30-32 pages pending to index last 3 weeks. After this updating mode, all of them got indexed today. Wtf?

They should give less priority to other means of indexing and prefer their own tools. Ironically, you can index your links faster by sharing on social media than using GSC. I hope they fix it in their next update.

Last indexed page for my website was 6 days ago maybe that is why, didn't notice at all

Hope this is just to fix the ongoing indexing issue and not a major algorithm update.

I think that's the least they can do when everyone's been complaining for months now...

It seems Google is still working on the GSC indexing features. I have noticed recently most of my pages disappear from SERP! I hope they will not hurt us as they did with the last penguin algo updates.

Lets be honest here: If they wanted to fix the crawler/indexation they could do so easily in several different ways much faster than "a few weeks".

This whole indexation problem and "disabling indexation" (well, basically it was disabled already before their announcement = outcome is the same) is just because of the upcoming election next week.

After this indexing will work again and they will probably roll out an update. It is even my guess the update in December 2019 (where a lot of problems started!) was just because of the election. They are on a war against Fake News. What is the best way to prevent it? Don't even let them getting indexed! Don't give any new domain/website a chance by shadowbanning (or also called Sandbox) them. You don't need to be a genius to come to this conclusion.

Google must be really afraid to get roasted and accused by the congress or media again. Maybe they want to play it SO SAFE that no one can ever blame them. Probably even saying "we even disabled indexing!" when it goes to the court. This time heads will roll, not only money.

Look what happened after the 2016 election. Facebook and Google got under crossfire. If someone would use/take advantage of their platform to push a narrative/agenda/campaign or to bring on fake news there will be a lot of consequences for them and probably they won't even survive this time.

By the way: Just take a look at what happened to the Google search algorithm since 2016. It became terrible. Rankings often make no sense. Even the algorithm in 2014 and before was much better.

And just to follow up with this: Getting organic traffic is the ONLY way a certain group of people (whoever it is) can manipulate search engines and social media networks. Why? Because paid traffic or better to say ads with a certain content like Fake News etc. will never ever get approved. Organic traffic however doesn't have this manual filter.
