Hi all,

I have been working on a website where content has had to be completely reworked. After I make the changes, I request for Google Bot to crawl the website. I've noticed (for multiple sites now actually) that even though the URL is indexed, Google itself is taking an age to register the changes.

For my most recent piece of content, it's been three days since the article changes were made, yet no changes are popping up when I do a site:URL query. The dead giveaway is that the title tag has remained the same. For another website, new URLs have not been indexed at all, even after a month.

As far as GSC is concerned, all of these URLs are indexable. In fact, in the case of the content updates, the URLs are still live on Google. They've just not been updated.

Question: has anyone noticed any significant lag between the time they request Google Bot to crawl their site, and the time live results actually change?

Note: I have check robots.txt, I have checked the URLs in Screaming Frog to make sure that they are indexable, I have performed a Live URL check in GSC as well.

Thank you in advance!

Google indexing is slow af since some time already, especially for new websites/pages with weak backlink profile,
using some links can always help & will do eventually increase the recrawl rate, but only if it will actually help out in ranking,
so, if you're just targeting low difficulty keywords, just be patient ;)

Thanks for your reply. It's good to hear that the problem lies with Google and not the website. This is quite an established website. High DR with lots of links as well.
