I'm a novice at some of this stuff and curious what the benefit to using something like GSA URL Redirect PRO would be?

In GSA, the bot will automatically create backlinks for your keyword related to the niche.
But in GSA URL redirect PRO will do 301 redirects to your site.By this, the traffic of your site will be increased.
So, you will get better SERP.

Using 301 redirects,your new website will get more traffic
example if you bought an experied domain with high traffic means using 301 directs you can redirect them to your new website
so you can get more traffic on your new website
when you going to buy expired domain for 301 make sure you're both(expired and new )domain have related with niche

Thanks for your detailed reply, but what about the GSA Redirect Pro tool, how does it work? URL shortners?
