I've been building links with different strategies for a couple of months now, and I'm not getting results.

Different kinds of content, even the best quality stuff did not make it to the first page of google.

The only kind of traffic I'm getting is from bots, and not the monetizable kind.

What are your thoughts about it?

How are you using GSA? It's an interesting question - should have have made a poll because there are people here that swear by it and other say it's entirely useless.

Many people make the simple mistake of using too many (and irrelevant) keyword anchors. As in the amount of keyword anchors that are added to the tool in the data fields not how many are being posted or what percentage of the time.

I’ve had good success all of last month and the month before (etc) just using brand and generic anchors with keywords that my document is actually about next to or near the backlink. Spamming hundreds or thousands of links with keywords anchor text is unnatural and google has a filter just for you if you do that.

Using tiers is critical. You can’t spam unnatural anchors in your tiers anymore either. I highly recommend reading the macro guide and learning the macros to use in your data fields to make the anchor text being used in your tiers more natural. I use %meta_title% as one anchor in my tiers. That uses the title from the document you are linking to as anchor text.

Theres so much more to configuring SER than Matthew Woodward tutorials from 2014! If this seems like it might wind up being overwhelming to learn my advice is to simply shelve the software because it’s not going to work for you. Outsource your external backlinks.

Or build buffer sites on t1 and try to build tiered links to them. Again, if the settings are not right you probably won’t see great results.

I've tried:
  1. 500 shared proxies refreshing every week + catchall email + anti captcha
  2. backlinking to the root domain
  3. backlinking to individual post from RSS feed
  4. backlinking to specific posts with handwritten comments
  5. back linking to my target country and language only
  6. using only keyword related engines
  7. removing the keyword only and broadening to contextual links only
  8. using whatever engine available
  9. using all languages and countries
  10. also tried the “same” setup on a different domain and niche with different keywords, equally useless.
I have no more ideas except letting go the time and money I've spent on it.

I've 10k backlinks verified by GSA and around 1,5k indexed by the ahrefs backlink checker so I don't think buying a massive sitelist would do any good

I believe I did this, I mean not using the macros but I've manually configured a couple of campaigns to have a precise anchor, good comments and a good article with canonical and do follow links.

Those articles did get a few more impressions compared to the pure spam, but still no clicks.

You talk about learning, is it just trial and error or is there somewhere I can get this knowledge?

Even I Think GSA Doesn't Work in 2022 - My personal Experience

Sorry no intention to Demotivate Anyone

I've built a website just to test GSA with mostly DeepL translated content and a couple handwritten articles.

I also have a personal blog where I talk about full stack development, GSA is not getting organic traffic for it at the moment.

Maybe you are aiming at hard to rank for keywords. I don’t use SER to rank for difficult or moderately difficult keywords but on lower tiers. That’s not something that’s going to work, I think.

I have a few questions that will help me understand what's going on:

- how long have you been doing this?
- How old is the website?
- Are you pointing GSA backlinks directly at your website?
- What is your spam score & other metrics according to Ahrefs?
- What is the competition level of the keywords you're targeting?

  1. I've been running GSA 24/7 for at least a full month
  2. The website has at least 6 moths, and it's been auto publishing a couple DeepL translated articles a day since then
  3. Yes I'm pointing GSA to this site, it was built as a first black hat experience and then left “maturing” for a while
  4. No clue about the spam score, I'm checking the free tool https://ahrefs.com/backlink-checker
  5. I'm targeting low competition keywords by the google keyword planner

So I've a couple of things you should try:

- Do not point GSA backlinks directly to your money site. If you're going to, I'd suggest to point them at tier 1 & below backlinks only.
- You've only been sending backlinks for 1 month and you have 1400? If so, that's not enough of a test period.
- You need to try to get your referring domains number up & closer to the number of backlinks. The better the ratio, the better off you'll be.
- You should check the content your posting to make sure you're not publishing bad content. Just to be sure. I suggest Quetext for that.

never begin your campaigns too early. infact wait until out of sandbox and you have some volume of organic traffic.

we have to appear natural as if enough people atleast saw your content first before you build links.

also time your GSA for slow steady pace trickle when you begin post sandbox.

Also why do you have 500 proxies? You can run 10 threads per datacenter dedicated proxy. I think you could save some money there.

  • I'll try to learn more about tiers here on bhw, right now I'm just horsing around to see what works in this test
  • I guess I've got a lot of backlinks in a month, because out of desperation I tested the “indexer” and “link shortener” engines at some point.
  • Also, I'm allowing GSA to create 5 accounts per domain and post 4 backlinks per account. Should I avoid it?
  • The content is pretty good, I can't tell it's not handwritten, Quetext returned a 100% plagiarism from one source, my website. That's good I guess.

How can one get organic traffic before back linking?

I only post once per domain. I agree. You need more referring domains. 53 RD is small for that amount of links. And isn’t going to be enough without tiers behind it (if it will even be enough with tiers idk)

- Tiered backlinks are easy. Keep strong websites as your tier 1's. Tier 1's point directly to your money site and can be trusted. Tier 2's point to the tier 1's and can be less quality, but you still want some quality. That's a very simple analysis, but you understand.
- Yes, that's far too many for your first month. I'd say stretch 1400 over 4-6 months at least. It's my understand the GSA indexer doesn't even work in terms of indexing right now.
- Yes. At this point you want to aim to level out that 1400/53 ratio. I'd say disavow like 400 of them to help the ratio out a little.
- You want 0% from any source ideally. However, what is okay is when the plagiarism cited is things that can't be reworded. Names of people, places, etc.

I'm using webshare's proxies.

I've started with 100 shared static proxies but the threads where running very low, 0 to 10.

So I've tried to use more proxies and reduce the "time to wait beetwen queries" to around 6 seconds.

Now my threads are running around 50+.

But I know that my machine can handle at least 1,5k maybe 2k threads no problem. It gets there with link re-verification".

If you have any advice... maybe more campaigns? Also, I'm only using language related search engines around 70, possibly the problem?
