    Hi,

I currently own GSA and I am uncertain as to the exact and effective process of downloading competitor backlinks. I heard the best way to do this is fire up AHREFS and download 15,000 in a CSV. That is all well and good but how exactly do you load this up in GSA? Some of the links are naturally going to not fit into an engine, some may even be dead. How do we sort these out and import them? Or is it simply advisable to just use the option "Import Target URL's".

Also, with AHREFS you can really only download 15,000 on the Elite subscription which is what I have. Let's say your competitor has 100,000 backlinks, wouldn't a 15k chunk of that not be enough... or is AHREFS actually picking the best of the best when we export URL's? ie. most powerful to least powerful/insignificant. It would be great if you guys could clear this up for me.

    Cheers,

    F.

You can either directly import them into a project, by right-click > Import Target URLs > From File, or you could filter through them first and add them to your identified sitelist, using Options > Advanced > Import URLs (identify platform and sort in) > From File. Either way, SER will check each url, see if it can recognise the platform, and either attempt a submission or add it to the global sitelist. 15,000 is certainly a good starting point, and I believe ahrefs exports using it's own metrics (url rank and domain rank) to sort.
