Basically I have a website & have been targeting a few Medium to High competition keywords related to a certain demographic. I actually hadn't noticed the issue until yesterday! Basically the website is aimed for UK based visitors. I just noticed that the rankings were moving up & down a little probably doing that Google Dance since I have acquired some new links in the last few days. However just by chance I happened to run the rankings on global google (.com) as opposed to .co.uk yesterday and realized that I was ranking on even 1st page on .com!! Now that I noticed it I can see why this has happened...mainly because the domain is .info, most of its links are from countries around the World. It has lot of UK based links but for the keywords I am targeting, I simply cannot get lot of UK based links. So G obviously thought of it as a global website and not a UK based website. I have now put extensive UK address and details on contact and other pages to nudge Google in the right direction...Is there anything you would suggest?

You can geotarget your website in Google Search Console, a lot of people around here advice against using Search Console because it's a great way to link your blackhat sites together for a manual penalty across all domains. If you're doing white hat mostly it's no problem to add your domain to Search Console and geotarget it.

Google Search Console target UK. But with .info don't expect high rankings, it's a second tear extension.

Yes I had already done that. Thanks!

how did you come up with conclusion?? I have never heard that one before lol. I have myself seen hundreds of top .info domains! AFAIK domain extensions have no effect on rankings other than localization hint.
