Hi,
I have an 17k follower account (full organic) where I post cat videos.

By posting regularly 1 post everyday with some popular hastags in my local language (#cat,#cats,#mycat,#catvidoes,#funny,#stupid,#videooftheday...)

I get around 20 new followers, average 1000 likes. (If I don't post, follower count drops, or stays the same)

Based on your experiences (please no theories or assumptions), can you tell me when will there be a breaking point where I will gain followers exponentially ?

Thanks.

Your following and engagement seems very low for your instagram account size. I would say you should expect roughly 100 followers per day if you're posting daily and maybe 200-1000 follower spike if a large account reposts your content. As for engagement you should be getting at least 10% of your account size esp since you're posting just once a day.

Is there anything else you can tell us? Is it really a 'full organic' account? Or maybe you have a good amount of useless followers.

You may want to go through your followers and clean out the people that don't engage.

I agree.. how organic are your followers? Lots of bots love to friend and like content. Now-a-days when I boost facebook posts, all the likes and comments are from spammers :/

Until 7000 followers I gained by follow - unfollow. After that limit, I advertised to instagram until 21000 followers. So my account is fully organic. Then I stoped advertising and it dropped to 17000 by time and stopped and it is same for a long time. My account is nearly 2 years old. I don't post everyday, but when I post, I gain around 20-30 followers. I can say I am posting once in 3 days. So I think it can be around 100 if I start to post everyday what do you think ?

Other than that, what about the breaking point ? Will there be a dramatic increase ? Currently I am 17k which means 100 followers daily. If I would be 34k, does it mean 200 followers ? Or how will it changes.

sad story but your follower count will not grow exponentially for long, as soon as you reach a certain level instagram definitely caps you. I used to have massive growth 2 years ago (posting everyday)...it got upto 100 follows a day on average... when I got to 70k it started to go down. Now its 100 followers a week this year and I have learned to deal with it. The new norm is 100 followers a week for me (still putting in work and posting everyday)

You need to post at least 3-4 times per day. The content must be good check what the big pages in your niches are posting.

I did F/UL till about 10k and then let it take its course. It was a struggle at first since I went from gaining 100-200 followers per day to about 20 per day but after about the first 2k organic followers my content started to hit the explore feed and it started picking up.

Fake followers are completely useless so don't ever consider buying any. Also I stopped at 10k cause I noticed my engagement was dipping below 10% per post.

One last thing - posting more often throughout the day can help or not help. It really depends on how much engagement you can get for each post you put up. I post once a day and its enough for me.

I hope everything works out for you.

First of all once a day is not good enough. I would be posting 3-5 times a day if I really wanted to hit the growth curve. And I mean at a minimum, frankly 5-10 would be best. Maybe that means you need to expand your page to other pets, etc but you need more content. And what do you mean when you said "advertising to instagram?" as a method of gaining followers?

Regarding exponential growth, there really isnt a magic number. I've had pages take off after 3 weeks with only a few hundred followers and they would start gaining 2k a day until they leveled off. I had pages that never went anywhere. It's partly luck, partly work
