Growing Instagram from scratch

Hello everyone.

I am going to start my first journey soon, and I just have a couple of questions.
My plan is to grow an instagram account from scratch, no botting.

-I read somewhere on the forum that Instagram shoutouts are dead, and basically make very little compared to before. Websites like shoutcart makes pricing so competitive.
Is this true, or does shoutouts still make a big chunk of the money made from IG pages?

-What are some realistic expectations to set in terms of growth and money?
I've heard it is very hard to grow on Instagram these days.

-Are smaller or bigger niches more worth getting into?

I am willing to put atleast a year into this journey.
The reason i choose Instagram is because it is very simple and convenient in terms of getting started. I work a 9-5, I dont have experience creating websites, and I am not a good writer as you can see. Also I have very little capital to invest, so i figured Instagram would be a good option.

If i ever got to a point where i could make 100$ a day with this, i'd be very very satisfied.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
