Growing a TikTok Account

Will be using a combination of follow/unfollow, DMs, and a deluge of content to learn the fundamentals of growing an account on the platform.

Will be editing this post with my progress and relevant takeaways.

The focus of this journey is not on monetization but I also hope to have a better understanding of that process.

so far. I've posted one high quality video. gonna see how that does. I have a high like/view ratio. don't know if that matters at all.

also going to for sure check out the TikTok section on this forum for techniques and insight on the algorithm.

Posted 3 videos yesterday. still solidifying my niche. got a bunch of likes vs views.

this is going slow...going to focus on dming my mutuals cause that seems to get me a few more likes per video.

Heavy day of following.
Moderate amount of views.
Nothing special.
Played around with some filters (will have to explore this later).

Have a definite video series so far.
Slowly developing a new content bucket for the niche.
Improving the set up to include better lighting.
Will update tomorrow.

I appear in the vids (I'm not dancing or anything). the main focus of TikTok seems to be the content itself. it's not that bad. I'm investing in a more professional set up (ring light and mini-tripod); very exciting to see how it helps.

Didn't do so hot but who knows what will happen in the future.
Have a bit more content planned out. Gonna try a "bathroom mirror" video in the future.
Will be a bit more mechanical with the following from now on. 100 follows per day seems like a safe number for now.

For some reason my Kapwing videos get 0 views all time. Other videos get 100-200 views on average easily.
Also do you recommend any bot?

Slow progress for sure. I'm warming up on the follows for now. Plan on ramping it up over time.
Main niche is music related content. Other vids are motivational/observations. I'm open to new content ideas. I don't have any trouble generating at least 1 video a day. Don't want to get too into it but I'm not using any sounds but my own. I think the progress would be faster if I were to use trending sounds...

I'm at the 100-200 range as well. I briefly looked into using a bot but I decided to go with the manual approach.

Yesterdays videos picked up the regularly amount of views.
They took longer to get going but I'm still hovering around the 100-200 view range.
I have access to better lighting now so I expect my future vids to do a bit better.

Starting off with serialized content has been extremely helpful...
There is way less brainstorming involved.

Good engagement via DMs (generated some traffic to a url without having an active link).

2 videos today. Still picking up about the same amount of views. A lot of likes on the videos though.
Will check it later. Plan on ramping up my posting frequency.

Engagement in the DMs way better than expected.

Needs Moar follow & unfollow. You should be able to gain 200 followers per day based on a quick test I did
