Grid layout for frontpage of wordpress?

Hey all!

I'm baffling here how can i make grid layout for my site, i need to have my posts like:

********** <- Newest post with thumbnail
**********

** ** ** ** <- sequently from post 2->infinium with thumbnails(?)
** ** ** **

** ** ** ** <- sequent infinium
** ** ** **


How will i achieve this easily? if you can show me how to do this and you know coding, i might have recurring jobs for the person who helps me
I see huge ammounts of responsive grid plugins out there... which would suit me best or should i just custom code this to my site?
