Hi,

Most.of us are talking om white and black hat seo. What you think about grey hat?

How do you work on it. Will google count it on spam?

Google only counts that hat as spam which is not a smart hat.
You need to keep things looking as much natural as possible with minimal footprints.
That's the only way to avoid the G radar hats won't matter much if you're smart here.

Yes. Grey is seems more difficult than black
 
Whitehat this, greyhat this, blackhat this, bluehat that - who cares, lets focus on making money as long as we are not causing harm to anyone. If you can rank with X method then do so, if you care about longevity, evaluate the risk and proceed from there.
 
Grey hat is just white hatters dabbling with black hat tactics and trying to fool themselves that they aren't doing anything black hat. You either follow Google's guidelines (white hat) or you don't :)

Nothing is difficult unless you know about it.

For most part the search engines rely on automation & machine level algorithmic detection.

So, if can play your process naturally most of the time you can bypass these algorithms.

It's all about testing your method on a large scale with diverse scenarios and comparing those results.

People who are expert in blackhat still bank from it because the have deep knowledge how the system works & so they can figure out ways to bypass it.

White hat is a myth and it's always ppc vs your method (black, grey, green, yellow) whatever you call it.
 
The idea for me isn’t which “hat” to wear but merely which footprint not to leave.

You want google to see you as white hat, which means not leaving a footprint in your link building practices.

You also want them to not see your site as spam. But, in terms of the question, I thrive in the grey/black hat zone.

I feel as though there’s certain amount of luck involved with solely white hat ventures.
