Hello all.
I have been a member for many years but took a long break. I feel the lapse in time warrants a new introduction.
I am an attorney and have recently started building my own legal practice. My business model is largely centered around the use of carefully developed systems and different pieces of technology to streamline processes. My work does not take place in a courtroom, it’s more technical (for a lack of better words). Lots of math and strategy with taxes and people’s finances and business structures. Because of this, the way I’m setting everything up creates a better client experience, helps me deliver a higher-quality product with a lower amount of stress (both of us), and allows for growth without hiring more people and creating additional overhead. It will also allow me to keep my fees low (except for federal tax matters, I am almost exclusively flat fee). High net worth clients can be fun, but I want to be able to help everyone. Because of my background, I know I offer a unique, real-world perspective that is helpful to all. I’ve been the guy cleaning the toilets as part of my job description and now, I’ve worked my way to being an attorney, so I’ve climbed the proverbial ladder (in the legal profession it’s more of a greasy pole).
Anyhow . . ..
I recognize how important it is to have my website optimized. The fields I practice in are super competitive for and advertising costs a ton for the main keywords. I will need help because while I’m learning a ton and applying what I learn to my website content, I really have no idea what I’m doing. I also don’t have a ton of $$.
Legal marketing is strange. Most of the established firms (and many new ones) have awful websites. They however have a ton of content and, over the years, have established enough of a foothold to rank well. However, where I live, and for the state, there are only two law firms on page one that isn’t paying to be there.
So, my whole thing is that I want to work smarter than my competition. The amount of work most attorneys in my field have to do for one client is insane.
I’m here to learn from everyone. Hopefully, I can help some of you along the way.
Also, I’m always looking for feedback or suggestions. One of the most helpful things is to know what you like or don’t like from the attorneys you’ve worked with in the past. That is either for a personal legal matter or, for web development, SEO, etc. Most people have opinions about attorneys. After all, we’re the worst kind of people (allegedly
