Great Job Potential ~ Need Advice!!

So I applied for this badass marketing job (IMHO) but the guy wants references and ranking reports of past clients. This is a well paying full-time gig but here is my sitch.

I had about 10 highly ranked sites of my own in competitive niches that got blown out by the penguin update. I started using private networks and trying to go the faster route cuz it was my own sites I didn't have as much at stake. I also think my anchor variety wasn't good enough, I had some old authority sites but anyway they got demolished which sucked pretty bad.

I currently have 3 clients I just started on, two smaller guys that are slowly moving up. I know how to rank the slow and safe way which I'm doing with them and another large account I just started and haven't got a chance to work on much.

I know I can rank this new potential client and play it safe and slowly rank him and take care of other online marketing sources for him. The issue is the ranking data and references, he is really focused on getting that.

My two small clients will put in a good word for me but they're sites aren't ranked great yet and my larger one I just started on.

I kind of want to fake the data but I would hate to go that route, I don't like dishonesty but I could really use this job. Any thoughts? Thought you guys might come up with something I haven't thought of.

Do you have proof of the previous rankings?

You could just show that and then claim that the results went down because they stopped using your service. As that way it would show competency without lying as you did achieve that, just not right now.

any luck with the job? I would have been upfront and used my previous rankings, especially if you had goods ones as you said. I also have more own sites than clients but my sites are in many niches. Anyways hope it worked out for you , if not shoot me pm I might apply
