As you may or may not know, I work in financial services in the UK.
It is a massive market as it is in every developed country but here in the UK, it is dominated by the price comparison sites and I have to keep working hard just to stay still. They all have big PPC budgets (even I spend about 10k a month now) and even the small to medium size firms such as debt management firms are spending 100k a month on PPC.
Because of this, I am always looking at new markets.
So I came across this post on Mixergy where I have been a premium member since he launched it as I get inspired by guys who have been there and done it. He is speaking to a guy whose ethos is to find a market worth billions (national, not local markets) and then brings them into the 21st century by using technology and/or web marketing techniques, as most of them are operated like stone age businesses.
Pretty good read and there must be opportunities out there that can be developed like they have. If anyone is interested, here is the link:
