Graphic Software

illustrator is the best program to learn for making graphics. for designing layouts i would go with photoshop. i would really donate a little time to learning these and you will benefit greatly. you can find cracked versions around the internet just dig a little....

paint :)
what kind of graphic would you need exactly? there are plenty available..what do you want to use for?
PS wont be bad choice btw

If you are short on funds, gimp is a great alternative to PS

Nothing beats Photoshop, except Illustrator for certain things like vectors :)

paint.net
inkscape
gimp2.0

I'm a complete noob with pictures, but I find I can juggle why I've got fairly well between these three programs.

Sorry, I should have been specific.

I'm looking for something where you can make something like the "easy build backlinks" ad in the top right corner of the forum. Something where you can hit a few buttons and creativity is done for you. It probably doesn't exist, but, I see some of the ads out there and I am hoping to do the same.

Thanks...

That would be easy to do in Illustrator, fireworks, or photoshop. I prefer Illustrator myself, but I'm a t-shirt guy and like to use vectors for my logos and most graphics.

If you want it done for you, why not just hire a cheapo freelancer to do it?

You could also look for a template for Photoshop where you can just open it and change the text... if all you need is a button there's plenty of those around.

for print graphics illustrator
for simple photo altering use photoshop

Illustrator is good for prints cause you can scale your vector images and they wont get pixelated.
Photoshop is good for precise images which wont be resized afterwards.

i've never seen a graphic software that's both easy to learn and does quality graphics
