Nice thread, for anyone starting always check design inspiration sites. You can learn a lot from existing sites/designs. But always remember not to copy other peoples work.

sorry, I just wanna ask... does anyone know or have a tutorial illustrator as simple make design easily or suggest anything for make design on illustrator? thank you :)
 
If you are serious about webdesign and logo design, i recommend mike locke, he is great teacher.

i preffer illustrator for logo design and fireworks for webdesign.
 
Research what other designers are down before jumping into a design program. Each object you start should structured and ploted out into a sketchbook... ideas, quick sketches or information. This is just encase your computer fails. A word of advice is to study color theory, typography and design 101 to become a great designer.

My top ten list:
1) Be bold in designs but do not go over-board with filters.
2) Communication with your 'partner' (client) is key.
3) There will always be changes to design make sure you charge for everything.
4) Once you learn typography they you can begin writing tag-lines and copy.
5) Push 'shift' key when resizing photos or images... distorted and pixalated images are the devil.
6) Learn marketing, fine art and small business.
7) Learn the difference between a Serif and a Sans Serif font... and when to use and not to use.
8) Make sure everything is measured and the same spacing is between images etc etc etc.
9) Say away from trends in the design world.
10) Push yourself to study other designers (grandfathers) and push yourself to always improve everyday.
 
I know i can colour pretty well in photoshop with all the blending and layer effects options. But can i do the same in illustrator . just so that i don't have to export my every illustrator file in photshop to coulour it. Also can you provide me a few guides for this purpose. thanks

how about youtube logo tutorial.. i always find it a lot time but i dont have any tutorial

Most of the time, the designer asks the image owner/s for permision to use the images just for showcase. It's a win win situation, because the designer will give the customers a link to the original image if they want to buy it and they use it for free.
 
For the learning of making logos and theme mostly people demand Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop. As the vector art produce on Illustrator and theme mostly created on Photoshop. there are many ways to download and as well as using a extended versions for the software. try to google it, and find the ways, there are torrent files, and other files sharing sites who offers free extended sofwares and all beneficial stuffs.
 
What would be the best starter program for someone new to the field who is interested in vector art?

Illustrator for sure and keep practicing with tutorials, check out the illustration tutorials at vector tuts (cant post link as my post count is too low)
