it must be on auto renew
and I guess google itself is a domain registrar now
and secondly
even if u get and such domain u ll have to give it back as its a trademark and u ll be paid only the registration fee
like yahoo.is was bought by someone and was on ebay auction but lateron it was given back to yahoo due to trademark and copyright

Well they need to wait to see if it works out.. I mean why renew a site unless it makes a profit right? Hope it works out for them if they can learn a few more SEO tricks they will be fine...
 
I'd put Adsense for search on it. Make about a million in the first month... simply genius! Wait, where would it search from?
