The thing is, humanity has created so much content over the past few centuries that there will be enough to use for centuries to come... and it is constantly being populated with new data

Note that AI doesn't just copy. It uses the existing content as the basis for something new. For example, if I ask it to write some code to implement my own personal algorithm, it doesn't use any existing code (such code simply doesn't exist) to generate something truly new and unique according to my scenario.

Another example. You are not a writer and have no idea how to write a good horror story, but you have a cool scenario/idea for it. So what are you going to do? You will ask GPT to analyze your scenario and write a story in the style of Stephen King. As a result, you get your own unique story written with professional writing quality
