as much as I wanted to say LOL, sadly you are correct. A lot of the evils and scams going on in the world are funded, supported, or outright created by politicians and the governments, otherwise they wouldn't be able to exist (much less thrive) in a normal society in which law and justice do their thing...
So yeah, this is very likely unfortunately...
