I wouldn't bother about this if they are not truly an authority.

Most people believe getting links from gov and edu help diversify your link profile
and also greatly enhance your SERP but that's a big myth that should be discard immediately.

Did you check link building forum here?

Edu/Gov links are good for link diversity.

@lover: As per my research here most of the sellers are selling profile backlinks from edu, gov sites, not the authority backlink from the actual content.
