Gotta bring it on top - journal!

I've got about 40 unique articles on a gadget blog site that I have made but haven't got a single visitor.. i have got the articles written from a content writer on topics which I though had not soo high search result volume..

need to start building on the traffic.. tips and suggestions would be most appreciated.. will read up on suggestion on BHW and implement them.. will write about my sites progress everyday.. and keep you guys updated..

I have about 30 more unique articles with me.. now i am wondering if i should keep adding more articles at 2 per day or something like that or concentrate more on promotion..

I am looking at the following promotion:
- Social bookmarking sites
- Creating back links though blogging sites and articles submission sites (will come back to this when i reach there)

Now considering this as DAY 1:
- I have done 2 Digg submissions
- 2 yahoo buzz submissions

- got 0 traffic so far

what do I do next?

I will be following your thread.There are lot of Backlink resources available in the download section.Use those links to promote your site.
If you have a few bucks u can get a submission service from BHW.

Use reddit, it's good for newbies and you can easly get 1k unique visitors. Digg requires a lot of work, if you submit your site from one account your domain willl be banned, wait some time to gain power to control digg. Stumbleupon is second after reddit to get visits. Yahoo Buzz never worked for me.

Try submitting some of your articles, or write some newer shorter articles for this purpose, to article directories. Fresh content is always good and crucial, but marketing your site is also important. There are many sites out there with outstanding content, but its no use if nobody knows about them.

Ok..thanks guys for the advise.. DAY 2..did not get much time today..
but managed to add two articles..submitted a links on Reditt and Stumble Upon.. Did a bit of msging on facebook.. Got about 4-5 visitors today - not Organic.. Have got 76 pages of my site indexed yet (including tags).. Tomorrow can do more stuff..

OK..now today was article submission day.. I'll call it day 3.. submitted articles on ezine, and about 3-4 different article sites.. writing some of my main articles took some time but managed to submit about 5-6 articles.. I am still waiting for them to be approved though.. created a group on facebook for one of my products which I am hoping to be an in thing in future.. invited a few members.. posted on a few communities but not much return yet.. Have got about 102 pages on my site indexed by now.. Big G happens to index my site pretty quick - as fact as 15 mins sometimes.. I don't know if it is a good sign or if google has just become faster! Anyways still no organic visitors to my site... the earnings remain the same! will keep ya guys posted.. want to go white hat on this for some time first.. lets see how it going..

15 mins to be indexed is a good signal.

Mmmmm your site/blog is on wordpress? if so, did you optimize your blog? rewrite urls, keyword, description, title tags, etc?
