OP, forget about it and take it as a life lesson.
It was 3 years ago, even if you report it to the Police, they won't put much, if any time into it.
Also you were underage to operate a UK Ebay account.

How can you be so sure that the facebook account you found is legit? One of the first things i'd do if i going to screw people over like this guy would be making legit looking social media accounts to throw my victims off. You'd have to be a complete fucking idiot to go around scamming people with info that's linked to your real social media accounts.

The police won't do jackshit anyways. You messed up when you didn't file a dispute.
