Give him a bait. About big up comming project. And try to involve him, cook something really sweet and label it like 10k, you can hire some one to act as investor, and see what happens. From my experience fishy seems some extra sweet from the starting so that when it comes to payment they can make excuses easily. (so i always keep a card unfold. )
May be you get him back. Trust is more expensive then 2.5k , good luck. And run too far for 2.5k . Make a time limit and money limit thats how much you will spend. And them move ahead. Take it as a lesson.
 
Man that sounds like a total nightmare, not only because of the money but also because all of the trust you had in him will be gone. And it will be a lot harder to trust new business partners in the future. I think sueing will be hard to do. But I hope you will get your money back.
 
If you were involved with anything illegal or fraudulent, you have NO legal redress.
PM me as much details as possible and I will try to track him down
 
I'm sure he has not tried to scam you check out the videos on YouTube the people of Venezuela are starving digging though garbage to try and eat. The government has taken everyone money its very bad there right now and not showing on the news since their government has made a news black out and has blocked the internet I doubt you can even fly or walk into that country right now!

That's bad that you lost your money.... But if he's really from Venezuela.... Then he is in very bad condition bro... They don't have even food to eat.. so let it be for now... Yeah it was your hard earned money but 2 years of joint work is a great amount of time to build mutual trust and I hope you were making a good continuous amount of money... So why would he cheat you when he could have earned a lot more if he continued to work with you. So it should be thought that he really needed the money. So leave it for now until the situations calm down there and then visit him. And for now wish that your friend is safe:(:(:( ;)

It's true, I live there.

The thing is people here don't have one job only, they do several things to earn money and survive. If your friend was making money online I'm pretty sure he wasn't eating garbage.

Maybe he took the money to get away from Venezuela? A lot of people are getting out of here.

You still live there. That's harsh man. A lot of people in my city take things for granted. But, it's not safe here anymore with bombing and terrorists.
 
Honestly what I feel is that its better not to judge. You guys worked together for long as you said but now all of a sudden he is gone, there might be something which you are not certain of.

Move on, if he comes it's your luck. If not then you cannot control the past but future is in your hands. If you could earn the amount before you can earn it again.
