I have been a "professional ebayer" for over 5 years now, I have stopped nearly all other forms of internet marketing and been doing this almost exclusively the entire time, still dabble with various things here and there because IM is more of a hobby to me, but my primary income and most attention is in eBay.

With that said I've grown a pretty successful business up to this point, and even recently began expanding to make it as large as I've always wanted. It's not an overnight process but it's going very well.

I am very confident to say I have the experience and knowledge to answer any and all ebay related questions. I have already trained a few people successfully (friends and family that all saw me go from a standard 9-5 to running my own business and the freedom that comes with it decide they want in on it too)

I'm interested in offering various services for ebaying including:
-optimization of process in both time and money
-finding product/inventory regularly, both repeatable items and random profits from random stuff
-navigating disputes, angry customers, ebay decisions, feedback, etc
-shipping practices
-equipment sourcing for the operation
-profit calculation and most book keeping concerns
-increase sales speed, volume, or top dollar, whatever you prefer
-anything else you might need help with
-specialized hand holding for beginners, casuals, or long term sellers
-100% safe, by the book methods/solutions that will not jeopardize your account (mostly Whitehall, some grey-hat)
-negative feedback combat and removal (must be freshly or moderately freshly received)
-one time one question assistance
-monthly service (agreed upon what that means and what you need during negotiation)
-on call priority service (immidiate to the front of service line, 24/7 availability and direct contact to me in various forms, also open to negotiations on what that means)

However, I have read the rules and know I need jr.vip and 100+ posts, so I'm creating this thread.

If you have any needs related to ebay this is the place to ask them, I will provide adequate advice to solve your issue. This is not however an offer to have hand held and "magically fix" issues for you, as it is a free service

I will check this regularly and respond as often as I can, as long as there are people keep asking

Hello, I'm looking for a source for genuine Rayban sunglasses particularly the aviator style. My previous supplier no longer has access to this product.

Thanks,

WSL

uhm...okay so perhaps I wasnt clear but I'm not a chinese wholesaller and not a person to come to looking for a supplier to an exact specific item you want.

also not the person to talk to about bootleg/fake items from china (not saying that's what you wanted, just making sure to reference it)

Boy, that's really not the type of response or image I wanted to portray on my first interaction, haha T_T

Hello, I was making an honest inquiry! If I misunderstood your post, I apologize. Also, I currently sell on Ebay and everything I sell is authentic, even the Rayban sunglasses!

how do I get my account reopened. It was closed 3 years ago and I want it back.

Thanks for doing that for me. I look forward to using my account again!

If you're set on a specific item that you have experience on, the best way to find a supplier would be to start paying attention to small local dealers. Hunt flea markets, small home grown/small business retail shops, craigslist, etc. Pay attention to stores in the mall etc. Any retail/product seller that isnt a large corporation entity. Look for the little guy that's running a business just like you, but not inside of ebay. Focus in on stores that sell the products you want access to, and woo them.

There's three stages of growing a retail business
1. Learning how to sell (to meet good income)
2. Learning how to buy (in bulk to grow past a home based/garage level business)
3. The logistics of managing inventory after #2

Those that grow past stage 3 typically become fully realized business entities. Think of the local "famous" companies and retail establishments around you or online. (Tiger direct, Newegg, Gallery Furnature [houston, tx], etc. These are the bigger versions, but basically all your local full grown operations in any town) At that point they have the recognition, market domination, inventory supplyers, and distribution methods/locations down and are no longer interested in people at the lower levels except as sales associates/supervisors/etc, and that's not what we want.

Most people who are growing out of or are already out of stage 2 will be eager to find people they can unload extra inventory quickly for a cut of the profits on, while removing the entire selling workload (especially since you're audience is completely unrelated to theirs). you could also potentially make friends that sell related and similar stuff and are willing to cut you in.

various people skills including how to talk to strangers, make new friends, build rapport, display yourself as confident and friendly, dominate, haggling and negotiation skills, etc will come in very handy and should be worked on in order to succeed in finding the best deals. This is a rule all business owners should focus on regularly as the old saying "it's who you know, not what you know" is never truer than it is when you're running your own business.

*EDIT* please note I typed the above advice thinking locally, but the same rules apply to online dealers, you can absolutely hunt down people who function on their own website, on amazon, craigslist, various other online outlets (any besides ebay really), however it is typically harder to find and successfully strike a deal with them because they will consider you closer to their target audience than those dealing IRL and local, and thus view you as a threat to their own establishment.

The same can be said in reverse for those who run a local brick and mortar location, the internet is a great place to haggle deals for inventory.

you're really going to need to go into detail with the situation in order to get any form of help there, but as tom already stated above it's almost impossible to get a closed account back, ESPECIALLY if it was for closed for any decent reason (too many complaints, items not shipping, caught selling bootleg, etc)

you will probably be better off cutting your losses regardless of the specifics, and getting new credentials and create a new account if you haven't already done so. you will need to get new info to use for your paypal/ebay that is not connected to your old info. change of name, address, phone number, etc. basically a stealth account. I wont bother going into all the details needed for that as I stay 100% whitehat with ebaying, theres plenty of info and/or services available in BHW for that though.

forgot to mention if its not already obvious....

what I suggested about finding a supplier is typically only applied to things like licensed name brands and/or other items you have trouble finding wholesale pricing on.

Personally I'm more of a fan of finding niches that are not dominated by name brands that are hard to get access to, but to each his own

Do you happen to know if the copy of Ebay Incognito floating around on Slideshare is out of date? Specifically, its rather light on content when it comes to IP addresses and billing addresses, and I'm not sure if I need to change my WAN or just my IPv6.

Thanks in advance, and for opening this thread!

You should change both since eBay can see both, but the consensus is that changing your IPv6 is enough, since there are enough public wifi's that have multiple account logins that eBay can't start banning all routers with banned account logins. If any sort of serious money is involved, I would go new on both just to be safe.

By serious money, do you mean ebay's official highwater mark of 750, or just common sense high value? In either case, thank you very much!

My experience is that a lot of it depends on what you do. For example if you get banned for selling fake sunglasses and start selling sunglasses again, you are at much higher risk for being monitored and banned quickly than if you go into a totally different niche. Also if you get banned for let's say, scamming customers, you are more likely to be monitored than if you get banned for not paying your fees. No matter what you do, generally at some point between $5K and $20K a month, you will get a risk assessment where your account may be monitored more strictly. Your stealth account isn't really 100% safe unless it can survive this.

I have no clue what ebay incognito is upon reading this. A quick google tells me its just some ebook thats teaching you how to do stealth accounts for ebay/paypal.

If that's correct, no I don't know anything about it, but you are in luck! I happen to be a computer tech as well, so I believe I should be able to answer your question.

*NOTE* Before I begin explaining this, please know that my intentions with this thread is to provide WHITEHAT information, perhaps some greyhat, but I prefer to avoid blackhat when it comes to any serious long-term operation unless it is easily renewable in the event of corruption, which ebay is not (IMO), so I will say now that I do not suggest doing things to get accounts banned, nor dealing with the stresses and hassles that come with stealth accounts

Firstly, I think you're getting terms confused or missunderstanding, and that is causing the question you have.

A WAN is a "Wide Area Network", which a simple definition for is "your connection to your ISP" or "the internet", technically it is "a network that spans a large area geographically", normally a connection of multiple LANs.

With that said, your IP address (though you're right that you most likely have an IPV6 address technically, that is over-information, it is generally referred to as just your IP address) is the address the outside internet world sees and cares about. (ebay, and any other website you visit)

As previously stated by tom, the information attatched about your WAN connection will make little to no difference and changing that would be overkill.

With that said, how easy it is to change your IP address depends on both your provider and the type of service and hardware they gave you. I can change IP by just turning my modem off and on again, lots of cable providers make it very difficult to control such things.

Also note there is an internal IP (LAN IP) and external IP (WAN IP), the LAN IP makes no difference as it is only identifiable within your personal network.

====================

Your stealth account isn't really 100% safe unless it can survive this.

I am fairly confident this is untrue. ebay's banning and monitoring system I'm sure is automated, and the software used is not going to be judgmental or treat anyone special.

It -may- be slightly easier to get caught if you stick in the same niche (or even keep selling the same products) as you will have a common factor between accounts, but even that isn't going to be much to go on becuase I'm sure you're just one of dozens if not hundreds selling the item.

If you were to create a complete stealth account (new IP/email/name/phone/address/paypal and paypal is just as stealthed) then I don't see there being much of a chance of your old doings being linked to your new doings, as there's no link showing you're one and the same person.

At that point, at best you're just another person selling the same bootleg crap in the same state as far as their monitoring goes, assuming you are shipping out of the same location.

And again, I do not condone or recommend doing things that get you banned for long term operations such as "professional ebaying" nor implement stealth tactics due to the hassles that come with the territories.

Just curious, what do you currently sell on ebay? Or is it just a variety of things? Thanks

Hello people, I started selling in April time this year and it went great within a month of my listing being up i was getting about £50-£60 profit a day! (I sell iPhone chargers) then ebay had to be gay and restrict my account for authenticity asking for invoices and stuff which screwed up my sales!! now ive had a new listing up for ages and im not getting anywhere near the sales i was previously. im a top rated premium seller and it doesnt seem to help.

I've did ask one of them people who sell watchers if they would buy my listing with their 100's of accounts so i would get sales, go up in best match then I'd pay them back plus a bit of money for helping me but it was a no sadly as i thought that was a brilliant idea to get up the search results fast.

any ideas?

Simple answer: if either of paypal/eBay is linked, they will eventually both go down. You must start with new accounts on both.

Just curious, what do you currently sell on ebay? Or is it just a variety of things? Thanks

it is quite a variety. It began with used items in a specific niche, then became new + used, then branched out into similar niches, and eventually became all incompassing

Over time my ability to quick-price things when I see them accurately enough to be able to buy stuff when I see them and generally come out with a profit refined and improved, so I began branching out. I tend to explain it when asked now with "I am not biased about where profits come from". As long as it's A. Legal, B. Within ebay TOS, and C. decently profitable and salable (doesn't take a year to move), I'll have a go at it.

Firstly, be a bit more mature. "ebays gay for stopping me from selling illegal items" is a very poor light to put yourself in. Selling illegal items is one thing, throwing fits when you're caught is another. if you travel the road then man up and accept the consequences that come with it.

Second, I do not condone any illegal practice, or anything that goes against ebay's TOS.

With that said, to give you the best advice you would need to show me what the old listing was vs the new in detail, so I could figure out where the problem comes from. I'm going to guess its your title keywords as you're no longer claiming they're authentic. My best advice with the current level of detail provided would be:

-research your listing title and see if you can improve it
-use more/better pictures for your listings if anything has changed from your previous listing
-adjust shipping method / handling time / etc to be the fastest and cheapest possible methods for buyers (to increase interest and ebays rankings for your listing)
-lower the pricing to be the cheapest option for a while. This will cause a surge of purchase that will help you rank as best offer.

Yes this might even result in losing money while you do it. The goal is to increase sales and in turn gain rankings from ebay. As you raise in rank you can slowly adjust your pricing back to where you want.

what should i do if a paypal which was attach wth my ebay was limited.

how to use papal safely now with this ebay

as previously stated you will probably need to get new accounts for both, that is probably the best if not only option

You can try to unlink the damaged paypal account and let your ebay account rest (aka NO transactions) until you get a new paypal up and running and connected, but this could cause trouble considering the ebay account will still have the restricted paypal's info (name, email, etc)

I would recommend if you try this to change all the account details on the ebay account, making sure to change any and all related info to the old paypal.

Since paypal and ebay are no longer one and the same company it's POSSIBLE that they dont share info on such an intimate level anymore, and thus if you unlink the paypal account from ebay and just let the ebay acc rest, you MIGHT be able to avoid it from ever suspending.

This is just theory.
