    Someone offered me this Domain.
The Domain Owner offered it to some people including me and is waiting for the highest bid (=private auction).
The Domain Owner is a friend of a friend ans has no clue about domain prices or seo.
Maybe i can make a good bargain!

I have no clue how much to bid...

What do you think, how much should i bit ?

    Here is the Data

    AGE: 4 Years
Number of spamy Backlinks: 0 (!!!)

    Trust Flow: 18
Number of Backlinks in Ahrefs > 2.500
    Refering Domains: 650
    Do-Follow> 500
Anchor: URL or Domain without TLD and things like "website".

Well, that's too low for a domain having backlinks from Telegraph, Bloomberg and BBC. I'd bid a maximum of $25 including a 1 year renewal fee.

Now that would be really a good bargain, Ill go for that domain!

BTW: Are u sure MajesticSEO is working properly for all TLDs? I was also surprised by the low TF...and tested other goverment websites with the same TLD. They also got a very low TF but also the pefect Backlinkprofile. Its really strange! I checked these domains with several tools and there is not a single Spam-Link.

It's not just about the Spam-links anymore. Even if the links profile is clean, the page that is linking to the domain itself should have some authority in order to pass the Trustflow. The more links the domain have, the higher its Citation Flow will be. Yeah, their metric is kinda messed. It'll show different numbers for www and non-www version and for the one that is ending with "/" as well. What you need to look for is the numbers for the "root domain" or whichever version(www/non-www) has higher backlinks.

Thanks for this inside! I tried the versions u provided and now it changed to

    Citation Flow: 26
    Trust Flow:28

Is 25$ still the bid you'd suggest?

No idea about the valid price, but what you say doesn't make too much sense to me: previous owner is German government and you would be the second owner while its owned by your friend. I also think that you might have underestimated your friends friend knowledge about the price as he has already figured out that the domain will have some value by buying it and putting it to auction.

laowai: He never bought it. He worked for the gov. He was the one who registered it for the government years ago and when the gov had no longer any use for the website he changed contact details, so there is no longer the gov contact but his own. But it was registered on his Name with German Government Contact Details...BTW: If you get a gov job in Germany you can basically not get fired anymore, so most of the people switch of their brain after they got the goverment job. There brains work not like that of blackhatters, they do not digg deep for informations, they just follow orders they get. Must be the most boring job ever...Our common friend told him about my PBN thing this is why i got the offer.

Now the number looks interesting. I'll up my bid to $30 and will close the deal for $40 if he's "OK" with it.

While I obviously haven't looked at the specific backlink profile I'd say the domain is worth $400+ easily.
Furthermore, I doubt the TF/CF is as low as you state - you probably didn't include the www-prefix - the TF/CF gotta be 30+ with those numbers.
Also, why would you not include the PR of the domain? Even though it haven't been updated in quite a fuckin' while I still find it more reliable than pointless metrics such as ahrefs DA etc.

^ This. Can't say more precisely without seeing the domain, but those referring domains definitely look juicy. A suggestion: don't bother with metrics too much, most of the times they do not reflect the real power of a domain.

ATY: So would be your bidding-strategy?
Would you try to get it for 30$ or would you maybe bit 100$?

On the one hand i think i can make a bargain. The Domain-Owner does not even know there is sth like online domain-auctions!
On the other hand i dont know who is taking part in his small auction and what they know about domain-prices. But i am very sure there will be no other PBN-Owners, that would we quite unuseal, cause Europe (excluding UK) has nearly no blackhatters...

Bid as low as possible, if price goes over $100 wait until auction is almost over and bid slightly over the highest bidder, but you need to know what's the highest price you will go with (say $300, for example).

Its not a real auction, the people he contacted will tell him what they are willing to pay. But noone knows how much other people will pay, its no "open" auction. Its no real auction, its more like you can give one bid and the highest bid wins. I am sure your strategy is very good for public auctions, but not working here. My max budget is only 150$
