Make sure this never happens again - set up your own IM business and be your own boss. And then go back to your office one day and ask your boss if he needs any financial assistance/short term loan etc.

Been there done that... at least things can only get better from here. When it happened to me I ended up getting my dream job shortly afterwards. But anyway you cut it, getting fired sucks ballz!

Congratulation!. This event will force you to look for a better job or to be self employed.
I have been self employed for 10 years and never look back.

You will do better but only if you trully believe in yourself and do action. This is actually a blessing!
