Got beautiful shoes? Let's see those bad boys!

If you've seen my journey, you know I have a thing for men's fashion. As it's getting closer to the launch date, I'm getting antsy. So to relax a bit I thought it would be fun if everyone posted a picture of their most prized kicks and where they got them!

Here's my favorite (tied between two)



On left you have black Magnanni Benito monk straps, bought at Nordstrom:


On right you have brown Santoni Quebec's. I bought these back my Jr. year of high school and absolutely adore them. I actually wore them today and just took them off, hence why they're not in their shoe tree. Bought these at The Shoe Mart.

Welp... Time to move to another forum.

No, I'm not. Haha. When I was growing up, my family didn't have much money because my father is a pastor and my mother liked to spend more than he made on the reg. So while other kids were wearing what was thought to be the "cool" clothes, I wasn't and got picked on a lot because of it.

Naturally, this stopped when I started boxing. But the bitterness against it remained. Then I started my own web design company (had been programming since I bought a C++ for Dummies book back my 5th grade year with my Christmas money), and did a website for the church pro-bono and got some paying work from it. Then I realized I was better than anyone locally, and started making decent money for someone in high school or even graduated. I started buying things that I saw in GQ and Esquire that not even the wealthy kids could get their parents to buy.

After the bitterness subsided and I grew up emotionally, I realized I truly had a passion for craftsmanship.

For example, my umbrella is put together by hand; each stitch was stitched by hand; it was bent by hand.

My watch's tourbillion, this intricate, tiny, sophisticated machine was put together by hand with tweezers.

You start to think about the passion and the dedication that goes into each product, and you realize it's beautiful. We're only alive for a very short time in retrospect, and when you decide that you want to solely make shoes for the rest of your life, you're leaving your legacy in each stitch, cut, and nail.

It's just therapeutic to me. It's beautiful.

I need to visit London soon actually. I've never been to Savile Row and would absolutely love to. It sucks being in Oklahoma. lol

Yeah, CK, lasted ages! Hate buying new shoes, so when I do, I get good quality ones.

Also good tip, tying shoe laces, that never come undone: do the normal first bit ( 2 loops), and instead of doing a double knot with the loop ends, do the double knot with the laces ends. Looks much better and I can promise you now, they will never come undone. Went to a metal gig in the mosh pit, and after 4 hours still tight as anything.
