I would destroy the time machine.
To use a time machine as an entrance, there should be another time machine where you appear in another time.
This means if time machine exists in the future, the oldest date you can travel to is the date time machine was created. All dates before that didn't have an "entrance" apparatus.
Also, the day time machine starts working, all the time machines from the future would allow the most dominant species to travel back to the point of the first time machine.
This event would create an infinite loophole where the future might never exist, because at any given hour in the history anyone would want to go back, either it's government or some rogue group.
That would be the point where the past, the future and the present collides inside the time machine.
That could be a good science fiction kindle book

i couldn't even decide which time phase i wanna go to. Way too much things i would like to do. Riding dinosaurs, save Cesar so he don't get stabbed to see how the roman empire evolves, killing Columbus so the native American people as well as the Inca and Maya wont get killed, convince the colonial powers in Africa ant the middle east to NOT draw the borderlines on a drawing board to get rid of so much trouble in that region, save the Austrian prince so he don't get shot and prevent one world war, get rid of Hitler so German people do not shame themselves for an eternity, convince Oppenheimer and his team to scrape the idea of an atomic bomb ant the Russians as well, stop china from buying half of the world, invest in bitcoin and all this. i cant decide, way too much choices :^(

You're right, one time machine at one point in time. That would be the same time machine at the same time since the creation + infinity;
I would assume that time machine would have an encoding/decoding mechanism, and only that one time machine could decode "you" into the 'other point in time machine'.
