Got a Problem With a New Private Proxy,

So I just set up a new private proxy and when I did a google search with it I got a page saying Google has detected unusual activity on this network. So I've had lots of proxies in the past and never had this before.

Could this mean that it's a shared proxy and the seller is selling it as a private proxy?

I would also be interesting in knowing this.

My assumption would be (I don't know anything about anything), assuming the seller is being honest, that it is a resold private proxy... Could that be possible?

This means that the proxies was used for google scraping in the past and its it reached a permanently google ban.
 
Yea contact your vendor and ask for an exchange. Usually no problems if the proxy is giving problems

It could be a used proxy which was abused for Google scraping in the past or the rest of the range is allotted to someone who is using his proxies for scraping google results. The whole C-block could be blacklisted by google in such case.

Presumably you went back to the seller to get clarification?

Did they replace or refund you ?
 
The proxy has been notified and banned by Google indeed.
 
Yeah, the range should has been blacklisted due to previous activities. You should request for new ranges instead.

Most probably no. It's something else. The proxy/the range was used before to scrape Google and now when you try to use it, it gets picked up by Google. It only means that you weren't given a virgin proxy/range, but a used one, which is a rather common practice among proxy providers. If a proxy is banned on Google, it still can be good elsewhere. Before you commit to purchase - and it's not stated anywhere - always ask the provider whether the proxy can be used for this or that purpose or no. Proxies are usually non-refundable, the most you can ask for is replacement, which is only allowed one time per month/payment cycle usually.
 
This means the IP range is temporarily banned on Google, your provider should be able to switch it out for a new unbanned IP.
