    Hey Guys!
I've been called by one of the biggest real estate company in the country to work with them as an Internet Marketing Consultant.
They are willing to pay me good money for working with them part time, they are paying even more then what is the average full time salary in this country.

My tasks will be obvious, complete Internet Marketing including SEO, Social media etc.
They are even willing to give me a budget for all this, so what they are paying me is my money, for IM I get budget to spend.
I've been doing IM for 8 years now, but this is the first time I'd be meeting a client as a consultant!
Being an Introvert I'm even more nervous.

    Any tips would be appreciated!
    What should I talk about?
What should I take with me?

    Anything :)

    Regards

P.S. The meeting is on Monday.

Go in with a plan. Do some research on how they currently stand in terms of IM, and how you plan to improve it. And what kind of exposure they may gain from this, which in turn will lead to a higher revenue for them.

Companies looking for a new employee outside of their actual responsibilities look for leadership skills. Be energetic and act more excites then they are about helping them to increase their awareness online. Bring up competitive analysis where you research competitors SEO/IM efforts and improve upon it by implementing strategic SEO & IM tactics that include SEO (Article Marketing, Link Building, Blog Commenting, perhaps targeting Real Estate related blogs, etc) and SMM. Point out the fact that we're in a buyers market and that you have the skills required to acquire new business by finding potential new home owners before they find another company. PM m if you need any help or questions, I'm experienced and can even help you after your interview. I wish you the best of luck :)

What desi said and target their regional real estate terminology. Specific to their real estate specialties. Sprinkle your brief Written proposal and spoken language with that terminology.

use the word "envision", it kinda means "imagine" but sounds so much more positive.

eg. I envision increasing sales by 18% per quarter.

    Thanks :)
Yes, I'm already researching on quite a few things so I can take those docs with me on Monday.

I appreciate the help mate! I'll PM you.

The company has quite good reputation already in the country but the online exposure isn't much.

Definitely a plan. Like a run down of all that you will be doing for them, a bullet point, then discuss them morei n detail. If you can bring examples of each point as best as you can. If you have an ipad or something like that, bring that to show the examples.

After hundreds of client meetings and discussions, I can tell you that it ain't rocket science. You just have to know people, and how people think. Stuff to help you out behavioral wise:

1)Firm handshake and eye contact when shaking hands (will make you look serious and manly and remember, firm nor HULK-like)
2)Don't stare in his/her/their eyes. Make eye contact but don't overdo it (if you stare in their eyes subonsciously they will get intimidated)
    3) Don't overgesticulate. Keep your hands on your thighs.
    4) Get a notebook and a pencil and write down stuff. You will look more professional and organized. If it's a boring ass meeting just doodle, they won't know, trust me, I have a lot of experience in this matter :).
    5) Don't interupt them while they're talking.
    6) Ask questions. On point and exploratory questions, not stupid stuff. That will get you more points.
    7) Be relaxed, remember they're human and they shit too, and you could probably kick their asses so no need to get anxious.

That's about it regarding what to do on an interview. OFC there are lots of stuff you have to do but you can't be taught that. Don't worry about them. Prove them you know your shit and you kick ass in IM and it will be cool. Don't worry about little details once you entered the room. Oh and give yourself a mental motivating speech before entering the room. Something like: "SPARTANS!, eat well, enjoy you're selves, drink the water the assistant gives you, act like a boss, act like you are the bomb, feel they need you not otherwise, ask for a coffee 'cause....TONIGHT...WE...GET.. THE JOOOOB!!!!!!!!!!"

Make sure you have a really clear plan that you can defend well if they criticize it.

Make it clear you keep on top of industry news.

Go through their current on site and off site and have a list of suggestions.

Know exactly how you'd allocate the budget they're giving you.

If they're savvy, make it clear that you know how some tactics are risky - discuss what they're looking for and then make sure you can do this. Ie if they're extremely whitehat, make sure you agree with this etc.

I can't give you any advice because I have no real experience but that definitely sounds like a great job. I just wanted to say all the best and good luck with your meeting!

Keep the focus on them, don't talk about yourself more than they ask questions about you. Point out what they're doing wrong, and how bringing you onto the team could fix those wrongs for them.

Obviously they want to delegate responsbility which they can't handle themselves, over to you, so make it easy as possible.

Coming in with a plan is definitely a must, it makes you look on the ball ... you all ready understand their position. If there are certain things you don't understand, have a list of comprehensive questions to ask them ... get them talking and consult them.

Sell yourself by consulting them instead of by talking about yourself. They don't want to hear about you as much as they want to hear about what you can do for them.

    Good luck!

Be careful with the words you use, don't literally tell them that they are doing something wrong because that might not sound good to them. When/if it comes to pointing out the things that they are doing "wrong", rephrase this into something like "this doesn't seem to be working for you". I had a better phrase in mind but it just flew out of my mind.

Confidence, my friend. Listen over talking. Wear clean shoes and your best attire. Don't get technical (they won't understand and loose interest) and last but not least... Grow a moustache (that tells the world, I am the man).

For every meeting like this, you must always bring your weapons!

    1. Laptop
    2. A wireless broadband
    3. Demonstration / Presentation

What you need to emphasize are the following:

    1. ROI for the client
    2. Legality of the methods
    3. Advantages to the competitors

During a meeting, you need to sell yourself effectively but do not oversell! Lay all the cards as far as they could understand what you are saying. Obviously you won't be discussing in detail the .edu/.gov links, scrapebox, RSS, etc. I bet they won't understand that. They already hired you to do these things so basically you just need to prove them that you know what you're gonna do.

Finally, prepare a solid outline/plan for the job. Advance congratulations on your first check.

    In a nutshell!

Be the master of one rather than jack of all... :)

    One topic and its sub-topics...

I mean, study only one, the best for the company, topic there is and stick to it. Then work like a possessed man to get those things done within time.

    1. Once that happens, they will get a pedestal for you!
    2. Once that happens, you'll be able to handle any, well almost any, topic on Earth and be ble to get those done too.
    3. Outsource, get help... there is plenty if you have the money. Fortunately for you, your company have loads of it. So where're the problems?
