Got a Large SEO Client!!

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to post this thread as inspiration to others. Today I landed a client that will net me just short of $24,000 over the next 12 month. It is a large paint manufacturer and distributor. Contract is for $1995/month for 12 months.

Get this: This company has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Japan, Mexico, Canada, and throughout Europe. And, the PRESIDENT of the company is the one who contacted me, via my website.

Oh, and this contract is for their storefront in ONE location. They have 17 storefronts, so.... do the math. When I impress them with this one location, then the rest are in the bag :D

Get going guys, get that paper. :-)

Congrats. Just curious, how much SEO are you going to do for $2000 a month?
 
Wow, that's amazing. Keep it up! It must've been a great feeling having the president of the company call you.
 
With BHW's ultimately low prices it's going to be like $200/month I guess
 
Thanks for all the replies everyone. I am doing a complete on-page optimization for 3 keywords for the one local store for now. Then, I am doing 20 hours of SEO per month, doing linkbuilding, video, articles, etc...

Just a quick question - you probably don't want to reveal your methods, but could you give us a broad idea how you landed the client? :)
 
your thread give me a lot of energy and start to dream when a call come for our company! We also have lots of experienced in SEO Field !

I'm going to take a guess. Social networking, Spoonfeeding his business to potential clients (contacting them over their negative points that he could fix), and just having a good rep for his website.

I targeted a local keyword in my market. Hint: (city) Internet Marketing Services

The client found me from the SERPS. And most of my other business is referrals.

One tip I have for the newbs, is this: Do a couple sites, seo work, whatever, for FREE. Then, just charge for hosting. Make sure you do a great, and I mean great job. Your work will speak for itself after that, and PAY for referrals.

Sorry, I don't quite understand your question. Are you asking how many sites you need to do for free? Just one. And you don't need to, but it helps, as it gets a case study under your belt. :)
 
Congrats man... I love hearing things like this! Was there much negotiating work involved? How did you tell them you wanted $2k a month without sounding too expensive?

Haha it's the typical formula for landing any client. Best of luck man, hopefully when I start up my business soon I will get some clients like him.
 
Congrats man! That's a really nice client to land. And with all of the other locations around the world it has the potential to bring in some other big clients through their referrals too. I am trying to start up a SEO company where I live as well. I'm doing SEO for my brother's electrician company for free to help him out and also see which methods of promoting the business work better than others so that I will know what to offer (and what to charge) future clients.
