Google's Chromebook Pixel $1,299

Lol, price is way to much.

Would prefer to buy an actual gaming desktop for that price :P

Thanks

Main problem is that the world is still 80% MS, even with the amount of MAC/*Nix users it doesn't amount to MS and there is also the gaming limitations.

Since Google always makes awesome things I wonder how they will approach and overcome this barrier or if they will even attempt to or just make something new business like worth using.

They have chromebook models for 199 and 249 also I guess the 1299 is much much better hardware

Wow... That's expensive... who's gonna buy it?!
rich guys(gadget savvy + others who doesn't know how to operate this but want to buy because if they don't their social rep would decrease)
i personally know some people like these.

Apple has been selling Laptops worth 600-700$(I5 Proccesor with 2/4 Gigs of ram) for 1500-2000$ for ages and people were buying it, and now you are complaining Google is selling this awesome device for less than Apple's Entry price?

Come to think of it, when is the last time you guys ever really needed the use of a CD rom drive?

I don't think I have used one for years..... so a nice thin laptop like is something I would consider purchasing :)

I will wait for a few reviews first though.

Edit: just found out it can only go on the internet... i.e it won't allow you to use things like MS Word / Excel.

Downer..... I give it a pass for now. Lets wait for the future versions (that don't focus on selling cloud services)!

yes can't do much on it as its just a browser made for the big boys but i think it MIGHT be pretty handy for us as most of our work is done inside the browser only :D
