With the new 3 pack I have seen local SEO clients getting very picky. As a result my prices for local SEO have rose 20% as the game is now a bit tougher to get clients to the top 3 in order for them to get more organic traffic. It makes for a harder sell but in the end as long as communication is there I think it is well worth it!

Pretty much.

I imagine the 3 pack will eventually turn pay per lead, they're already testing it in SF with plumbers.

They have minimized the organic real estate of the highly desired first search returns in order to add some more PPC options.

Local SEO will be a lot more competitive, especially in high population areas.

If you wasn't in the top three, you probably didn't get a whole lot of traffic from the 7 pack anyway. I like the 3 pack better as it's less competition once you get listed. 2 other competitors instead of 6.

so the way i see it organic search AND ads become more important to do not just ads
