Ok I got a weird situation I set up a new site. Domain set up about 2 weeks ago. It is in the financial niche. Anyway I set it up, did 2 linkpushes at it a day or so after, added reddit and digg bookmarks and it is already getting google hits related to the keywords I am targetting. However googlebot has not hit my logs yet. How am I getting searches if googlebot hasn't even visited my site?

Only thing I can think of is that google now has its bot camouflaged or something? Anyone else seen this?

If you're receiving Google traffic then your site must be indexed and if it's indexed then a Google Bot must of visited your page. Maybe your site isn't logging spider visits?

You don't mention if you're actually looking at your raw apache logs or using some kind of stats service. If it's a service that relies on javascript to log hits, then spider visits won't trigger your logging.
