For some reason, Google Search Results won't return my website's title but instead it returns the domain name, for example, domain.net .

If I change the meta description, Google updates it within a day in the search results, the title however stays the same, domain.net .

Has anyone faced this before ? How can I "force" Google to update the website's title ?

Sometimes Google modify the title or the description to something that they consider fitting more with the request of the user or with the content of your website. There is no way to prevent that unfortunately.

consider to create an h1 title inside the page content with the keyword you are interested to rank or display.

Google says: we know better, you can try and write a title we like, but we reserve to do whatever to make people click on your result. There is no way to prevent this from happening right now. Which is annoying in many ways. You can write proper page titles. Not overly optimized titles targeting a gazillion keywords.
