Google will now be cloning your website?

Google isn't 'cloning' your website in the sense of stealing it. They were granted a patent for a system that could replace an advertiser's landing page with an AI-generated version if the original page is predicted to underperform for a specific user

Google doesn't steal or copy your website to use as their own. I think the patent only describes the ability of AI to create alternative landing pages for ads if the original page is predicted to perform poorly.

As far as I know Google is doing this from the very early age. There copying our website and creating a mirror in their database. Isn't that a old thing?

Technically yes. But the conversation has shifted because AI now generates from that copy instead of just linking to it

Yeah this patent is pretty wild if it ever becomes a real feature. Google basically describes a system where it evaluates a landing page and, if it thinks the page won’t perform well for a specific user, it can generate its own AI version tailored to the query and user context directly in the SERPs.
That AI page could include personalized headlines, product feeds, CTAs, and other elements built from the brand’s content and user history, meaning the user might see Google’s generated page instead of the actual site.
For SEOs and marketers, the concern is obvious: if something like this launches, Google would control more of the funnel because the interaction could happen inside Google’s interface rather than on the brand’s site, potentially reducing direct traffic and data ownership.

If you want, I can also break down what this would realistically mean for SEO, ecom funnels, and affiliate sites, because the implications are pretty big.

Interesting development. If implemented, it could make content originality and strong branding even more important, since Google-generated pages might compete with your own site in SERPs.

Great point. This really raises the stakes for distinct brand authority.
