I have noticed that a couple of my blogs for certain keywords supposedly average on the first 15 listings or so according to google webmasters. However when i google them myself they are no where to be found. Even if I use a proxy or travel to a different area. Any idea why there is such a discrepancy?

are you sure your keywords are on google searchengine and not on google images?

I am fairly sure that the keywords are in google serps. However, I don't really know how I would know if it were showing up in google images.

I am really confused about this. I registered the domain 7 days ago. It took about 1 1/2 days for it to get indexed. stats for one keyword:

500 impressions
35 Clicks
Avg. Position 8.4


However, when I search for this keyword my site is no where to be found. Any ideas?

if you have a picture connected to your keyword then do a search on google images.

I know i been fooled by that many times before i discoverd what was the problem.

500 impressions
35 Clicks
Avg. Position 8.4

Means that 500 searches for the keyword and 35 clicks on to your site, and its placed at position 8

What you see in Webmaster tool is "Average position" G0ogle put the new site in a good ranking position(Honey moon period) and then moves it to the correct spot.

ronegrat - I understand what the stats mean. I just don't understand why I am not seeing my site in the search results. If my Average position is 8 one would think I would at least see my site in the fist 4 pages serps. I don't have a pic connected to my keyword. The only thing that I have is the banner which I can't find in google image results either.
